Design & Planning
From conceptual design to full installation, we aim to meet your needs, lifestyle and aesthetic. No design is too small.
T.I.L. walks you through the Design process. We first meet with you for a complimentary visit. The process is a collaborative one: we listen to and assess your needs and wants. This includes a visual and actual (measured) survey of your property. After the initial visit, we present you with a preliminary Design Plan. During this second visit, we make modifications and adjustments to suit your needs and budget.
Next we present you with the final Design Plan and an Estimate for complete installation. We partner with a local Landscape Contractor to ensure the best installation possible. We also Project Manage the complete installation. Our work and plantings are guaranteed for a period of one year. Follow-up is expected and we are happy to accommodate you to ensure a successful end result.
Garden Maintenance
We provide full maintenance for gardens: pruning, raking, clean-out, mulching, replacing,transplanting and thorough clan-up. We do not use harmful pesticides nor herbicides.
We provide maintenance that is sustainable and ecologically based. We observe your gardens to emulate Nature’s processes to promote Biodiversity, healthy soil and healthy plants. Correct hand pruning is essential for many reasons. Pruning stimulates growth. It allows air and light to penetrate the interior of the plant so that it can grow to its natural form making it healthier and more beautiful. Removing dead or diseased parts of plants helps in preventing disease and also strengthens plants.
Additional services we provide are pruning of small trees, shrubs, and perennials in accordance with seasonal timing. We “clean out” planting beds by weeding, dividing/transplanting as needed. We recommend renovations such as replacements to homeowners in order to create optimum growing conditions for plants to prevent fungal or insect disease.
Consultation
T.I.L. provides Horticultural advice by way of personal Consultation. We accomplish this through a comprehensive “walk-around” your property with you. Through observations and recommendations, we are able to maximize the visual and functional benefits of existing plants.
We assess how to maximize vistas from different vantage points on your property. In utilizing local stone for both practical and decorative purposes, we create interesting vignettes and features in gardens. Using good color theory, we make recommendations for nearby structures, fences or buildings. All of these pieces combine to reflect your unique style.
To ensure best function of available resources, we address stormwater and proper drainage practices. We aim to utilize wastewater in gardens rather than diverting it to stormwater drains where it is “wasted”. Finally, we help with planning for long term sustainability which often helps reduce the need for future replacements of plants.
